Story
For three weeks in July 2011 Pass It On Soccer visited Kampala, Uganda and Kampala School of Excellence Ministries,
a registered Non-Governmental Organization that houses and cares for 32 previously abandoned
street children. In
conjunction with KSEM, Pass It On Soccer hosted the Pass It On Soccer/KSEM
Gala tournament for 4 local primary school-aged teams on Saturday July 30th,
2011. Approximately 80 kids
participated and hundreds of spectators came through during the course of
the day. There was complimentary safe drinking water on-site, a trophy for
the winning team and participation prizes in the form of equipment for all
other teams, as well as awards for Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable
Goalkeeper. Pass It On Soccer and KSEM not only plan on making this an
annual event, but also expanding the tournament to include more teams in the
future. In addition to hosting the Gala, Pass It On Soccer and coordinated
with local youth soccer coaches, organizers and partner schools. Photos of both the trip and the Gala are available
here.

"In a country where 80 percent of the population
live below a dollar a day, opportunities for participation are always limited
and intervention of friends like Pass it On Soccer brings smiles to many young
children. We thank you for the support and most of all, creating the smiles on
the face of these children."
